Travelling With Children

Because of the many child protection issues being addressed by countries around the world today, travel with minors requires careful planning and preparation to ensure uncomplicated travel throughout Canada and across international borders.

It is best to confirm with the country you intend to visit that you have the most recent and specific entry requirements regarding minors.

In addition to carrying birth certificates and/or up to date passports, a travel letter is strongly recommended for children who are not accompanied by both parents. The consent letter should be taken to and signed in the presence of a Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths. This person will need to see identification that confirms the identity of the person providing consent.
